For example, the two pendant lamps that hang in the middle cast beautiful shadows, while the lamps on the wall will provide illumination when you’re getting ready. Make sure to pay attention to the lighting as they can enhance the drama even more and make the bathroom feel so much more attractive. Using marble countertops, as well as white cabinets and the wooden island, will establish this graceful feel.

Tudor-style homes are often decorated with half-timbering, which refers to the exposed wood framework filled in with stucco or stone. This updated Tudor-style house puts a modern spin on that classic feature with a trendy black paint job. The deep, inky color also accents the exterior trim and front door, adding distinction against white-painted and exposed red brick.

Others focused on bringing the beauty of the estate’s gardens and views inside with verdant murals, floral fabrics, and nature-inspired lighting. Color played a major role in the renovation, as the designers wanted to retain the quaint aesthetic of the house but also make it modern and fresh with the newly opened floor plan. “The vibe we wanted to create was sophisticated without feeling cold,” says Sapna. Fun pendant lamps throughout the house were sourced from Anthropologie and Pottery Barn, with many of the mirrors and sconces coming from West Elm. A palette of whites, deep blues, and gold creates an elegant atmosphere in the formal living room, which was designed by Rachel Duarte.

Don’t worry, as you can still incorporate these charming features even in a modern house. When it comes to choosing the right colors for your interior, go for dark colors like brown, gold, red, and green. “Lawson-Fenning is tempting to use as a one-stop-shop for a luxe layered home and call it a day. Brightening Up a 1930s Tudor Revival

Each illustrating the boutique firm’s impressive commitment to architectural integrity, working within a broad range of design styles. Samatha Williams’s Tearoom in the Gatehouse is brimming with vintage charm and elegant accents. Working with Jacqueline Black and Michelle Porreca, Williams brought in a Chinoiserie wall covering to give the space a garden-like atmosphere.

“The Mart Collective has some amazing vintage pieces at reasonable prices. We love that this large space is packed full of interesting buys and is laid out like a flea market. You definitely won’t leave disappointed or empty-handed.” —Breegan Jane The Mart Collective, 1600 Lincoln Blvd.

According to The Spruce, one of the best ways to decorate with different designs is to layer different styles and scales. Be aware of which colors and patterns work best and complement one another. Or hang pieces from rods on the wall or in the stairwell for a more traditional look.

We’ve handpicked the best decor ideas for a Tudor-home so you can get your hands on this August piece of architecture and bring it to life for your clients today. In the kitchen of a Tudor style home, attention to detail on cabinetry is paramount. Inglenook fireplaces are also commonly seen off of the kitchen for heating small rooms. Several European-trained architects designed and built these homes for well-to-do families, particularly in the 1920s and 1930s. Purchasers and admirers of Tudor-style homes even coined the term "Stockbroker Tudor" as an homage to the people who built houses with their newfound wealth from the stock market.

The interior of a Tudor also has striking characteristics that stand out among other architectural designs. The entry of a Tudor home is usually referred to as a Great Hall, and many times they are furnished as a sitting room. Grand, wooden staircases leading upstairs, are usually accessible from the entry, sometimes having multiple flights. Since Katherine likes a beachy look, Monteverdi incorporated sea-glass-colored tiles in the main bath.

Substantial brick chimneys are hallmarks of the style, and should be given utmost importance in design and construction. “We wanted it to go in a sophisticated direction, especially in the main spaces, but also still have the relaxed, California sensibility where everything is really usable,” Arnold explains. Tudor style homes got its origin from the UK and they are commonly known as mock Tudor homes. Her favorite room in the house, the dining room, got some needed TLC, too. There, a tiny original bas-relief of wild game—boars and stags—crowns each window, just the kind of fanciful Tudor Revival touch the homeowners cherish.

Framing entryways and choosing ornately designed mirrors will help keep the room from closing in on itself or appearing small. Cool colors are less appropriate when decorating with Tudor decor and should be used sparingly. Mossy-colored cabinets are a great and homey addition to your kitchen (via Veranda).

Modern Tudor-style houses can be built in any space and cater to any taste, ranging from small little cottages to suburban homes to stately mansions. Although the enthusiasm towards these houses has been on and off, it’s known that they’re a beloved historic home style, especially in English and American landscapes. Arnold swathed the walls (and even between the ceiling beams) in a subtle green while painting the previously off-white cabinetry a slightly darker mossy shade. The wood beams and marble island further enhance the sophisticated palette. In the early 20th century, houses like these filled America’s new streetcar suburbs, and whole neighborhoods were populated with similar storybook cottages.

In addition to offering a less expensive and more versatile alternative to solid gold, gold leaf is celebrated for its ability to accentuate color and form through luminous details. Here, we take a closer look at the dazzling material, explaining how to use gold leaf in a painting and exploring its eye-catching history. For centuries, artists and artisans have turned to gold leaf as a way to make their creations shimmer and shine. You can also gesso an old canvas or wooden board before applying sizing, just make sure everything has dried before sizing. Aragon has never had any trouble applying gold leaf to the material of her choosing, though she says she wouldn't be shocked if glossy ceramic gave a bit of trouble. The only issues she has run into in the past was an annoying breeze.

A gilder’s burnisher, a tool with a smooth agate stone, is gently rubbed on the gold leaf, compacting it into the size. Ultimately, gold leaf’s allure lies in its capacity to fascinate, to enchant, and to transform—an artistic narrative woven into any gold-infused work. It continues to be a significant artistic element, captivating artists and audiences alike with its timeless elegance and unending potentiality.

Green Wall, Mini Texture Leaf 1

Before you even open the package, give whatever you're gilding a good wipe down to remove dust, dirt, and lint, Aragon suggests. You can use an old towel; a painting tack cloth will do an especially good job at grabbing the particles. "If you're doing it on a piece of wood, maybe just a little bit of a light sand might help the glue soak in better," she says. Finally, consider sealing your artwork with a clear, non-reactive varnish to protect it.

Then using a clean taklon brush, brush from one side to another to stick the gold leaf. Pop on a pair of lightweight cotton gloves, then apply the gold leaf to the area that has been sized. Wind aside, if anyone were to skip out on this particular craft, it would likely be because of the time commitment, the mess, and the flimsiness of the sheets. Though it depends on what adhesive you use, Barnabas Gold suggests waiting until the glue "turns clear and tacky" before applying the sheets, which can take 15 to 30 minutes. After that long wait, you still have to be extremely careful in transferring the gold leaf from the sheet to your desired surface, hoping with every fiber of your being that the delicate sheet won't rip. While it's okay to have some wrinkles in the gold because you're just going to smooth it out as best you can with a brush anyway, some flakes are bound to fall off, like in @bland_design's video as he buffs out the ceiling.

To make sure the sizing sticks, check that your surface is free from any oil or dust before applying the leaf size. Use paper towel, a cloth or a clean, dry brush to make sure the surface is clean and ready. Fabric like leather and polyester won’t work too well when it comes to sizing as the leaf size needs a strong grip to the surface before applying gold on top. Due to the delicate nature of gold leaf, be careful not to damage the edges of your plate design when removing additional material. You can discard your leftover gold leaf or save for a future project. If you have a specific area that you’re looking to cover in your project (eg a raised area or etched detailing), apply the sizing to this specific area using a smaller brush.

bottle painting tips

The precious metal has been hammered into extremely thin sheets available in various karats and colors. The flexibility and thinness of the gold metal sheets make it an easy material to DIY with. Gold leaf will discolour after a little while, so to get the most out of your gold, reach for a varnish and use it as a protective coating for gold leaf.

Gold leaf is a type of metal leaf, but the term is rarely used when referring to gold leaf. The term metal leaf is normally used for thin sheets of metal of any color that do not contain any real gold. Reflective gold and silver surfaces capture attention unlike any other decorative finish. Ever since about 3,000 BC, gold and silver have adorned tributes to deities and depictions of kings and queens, symbolizing opulence, power, and otherworldly spiritual splendor. Throughout history, gilded finishes embellish buildings, sculptures, and monuments. Interior gold and silver accents create a luxurious and glamorous aesthetic to residences, state capitols, theaters, churches, and public art.

Indeed, the judicious use of gold leaf can augment the appeal of a painting manifold by highlighting certain elements, introducing contrasting shades or giving an added depth and dimension. Grab a soft taklon brush and apply a thin even layer of the size onto the area that you’re wanting the gold to stick to. Wash the brush immediately with water to clean, then allow 25 mins for the size to become tacky, before applying leaf. Keeping in mind, the gold leaf will only stick to the areas that have been sized, so don’t go too overboard. Wearing a pair of lightweight cotton gloves, apply the gold leaf to the area that has been sized.

Now, having explored the process, it is over to you, fellow artisans. Commence your journey and let your creations sparkle with the true magic of gold leaf. In the realm of mixed-media art, gold leaf allows for an exciting exploration of texture and colour contrasts. It plays with light in a way that can add depth and richness to a piece. The result is a delicious tension between varying visual components that is both enthralling and inspiring.

people, including a child, are dead after an explosion destroys 3 homes and damages 12 others

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office will return to the scene Sunday morning. They evaluated more than 20 firefighters, many for heat exhaustion. Three structures are completely destroyed, and at least a dozen more are damaged in some form. Officials told reporters at the scene they did not know exactly who was at home and who may have had visitors at the time of the explosion, so they could not provide an exact number of people considered missing. Plum Borough announced Saturday night that it was making the borough building available to residents in need on Sunday morning.

He visited the explosion site Sunday morning to see what was going on. He complimented the support to the neighborhood from those in the community. The fire marshal's office continues to work with local officials regarding further remediation efforts to make the incident scene safe.

On Sunday night, an officer monitoring the site noticed that a hotspot had begun smoking. Fire crews arrived and spent an hour spraying down the debris. Following the explosion, utilities were shut off due to safety concerns, but electricity has been restored to all but the immediate area surrounding the blast. Chief Conley said that 57 firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The blast sent shockwaves through the area, with nearby windows and doors blown off when the home along Rustic Ridge Drive exploded.

But while his house can be fixed, he’s not sure if he and his wife can call it home again. The scene remains active and individuals are encouraged to stay away from the area unless they live there. Crews from 18 fire departments from across the region responded, along with water tankers from Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. "We don't necessarily know who was home at the time of the incident," Imbarlina said. "This is certainly a sad, sad day and a sad time, for not just the folks in Plum but all the folks in the community and in this region," said Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.

Five people were recovered from the scene, including one child, after the explosion. Officials are conducting follow-up interviews with some responders and witnesses, which is normal for such investigations, the fire marshal said. They continue to investigate the cause of the incident with further analysis of the interviews and physical evidence.

Heavy equipment went through the destroyed houses before the rain moved in. Crews with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Allegheny County offices, and utility crews investigated. Walsh said the district will open its doors to students, staff and the community for support services. Support services will be available to our students, staff, and community members to ensure that anyone who needs assistance can find comfort and guidance. We will open our doors for healing and reflection, where memories can be shared and celebrated.

While this approach works in some cases, in general there’s no right answer, and it’s unlikely that the first idea that we have will be the best idea. Through this course, I’ve learned that the best thing to do in order to get closer to a final answer/idea is to prototype and experiment. By trying things, identifying what’s working and what’s not, and leveraging those learnings to inform another version, you can iterate your way to the answer without needing to have everything figured out from the beginning.

The sixth victim, identified as 56-year-old Paul Oravitz, died on Wednesday at UPMC Mercy. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure the emotional well-being of our students and families as we navigate this unimaginable tragedy,” Walsh said. “The findings suggest that concentrations of gas detected on Aug. 14 came from (a) single inundation event, likely the explosion itself,” the DEP’s statement said.

In the moments immediately following the explosion, Renko — an officer with the Allegheny County Police homicide unit who was home at the time — was seen running between houses, working with first responders, doing whatever he could. Andy Zarroli might be the first of nearly a dozen homeowners in Plum’s Rustic Ridge neighborhood to know his house can be repaired following the fatal house explosion two weeks ago. PLUM BOROUGH (KDKA) - Allegheny County authorities tell KDKA five people are now dead, with one still unaccounted for, after a house explosion in Plum. Two firefighters stand on the debris around the smoldering wreckage of the the three houses that exploded near Rustic Ridge Drive and Brookside Drive in Plum, Pa., on Saturday. Three people were transported to area hospitals, including one who was listed in critical condition and two who were treated and released.

Gas samples were collected for isotopic analysis from five of those locations, including the area around a leaking gas pipeline, gas in the soil near a Peoples meter and under the foundation of the home. The DEP said inspectors found detectible concentrations of combustible gas throughout the Rustic Ridge area on Aug. 14, but the gas is no longer detectible in soil near the incident. Isotopic samples, which help to identify molecular signatures, were collected Aug. 14 by the DEP and Peoples from soil and a nearby Peoples meter. The home at 141 Rustic Ridge was owned by Paul and Heather Oravitz, and all six victims were inside that home when it exploded. Three homes were destroyed by the blast; 10 homes have been identified as possibly being structurally compromised. The point of origin for a deadly home explosion in Plum on Aug. 12 came from inside the house at 141 Rustic Ridge, the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office said Friday.

PLUM, Pa. (KDKA) — A sixth person died after a house exploded in Plum borough's Rustic Ridge community exploded. A company spokesperson said Wednesday that it had completed additional system testing with the Fire Marshal’s office and the state Public Utility Commission, meaning it can now begin restoring gas service. Company technicians will be going door to door to conduct a safety check and relight customers’ appliances, the spokesperson said. Any determinations and/or actions are based on that information, within the scope of the PUC’s jurisdiction, and any safety concerns identified by investigators are addressed promptly with regulated pipeline operators and/or utilities. While the full investigation by the Safety Division may take up to a year or longer to reach any conclusions, I&E will not hesitate to take immediate action to address health or public safety concerns that are identified.

Any resident who has questions about gas service in the neighborhood can find updates here. Plum Borough Police Chief Lanny Conley said three other people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Two of those individuals have been released from the hospital while one remains in critical condition.

Officials from the fire marshal’s office to Peoples natural gas to the Public Utility Commission have not divulged details of their investigation. Officials early on said determining a cause of the explosion could take months, if not years. A smaller yet still devastating explosion in 2022 in Plum’s Holiday Park neighborhood remains under investigation by the fire marshal’s office. They watched as emergency and utility crews returned to the scene of a fatal house explosion, searching through debris from three homes destroyed by the blast and subsequent fires. Four people are dead and one is still unaccounted for after a house explosion in Plum, local emergency officials said Saturday night. PLUM, Pa. (AP) — Four people were dead and a fifth was unaccounted for following a house explosion in western Pennsylvania that destroyed three structures and damaged at least a dozen others Saturday morning, authorities said.

On Aug. 25, the DEP helped to distribute combustible gas detectors to the 227 houses in Rustic Ridge. The DEP estimated about 90% of the units were picked up for houses in the community, and remaining residents will be contacted by the Rustic Ridge Homeowners Association to collect their detectors if they want them. On-scene investigative efforts also have been completed, the Fire Marshal’s Office said. Joint investigative efforts with agencies including the state’s Department of Environmental Protection and Public Utility Commission, Plum police, Peoples natural gas company and several insurance carriers continue.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation by Plum and county law enforcement and the county fire marshal’s office. The state public utilities commission and local utilities also were at the scene. The cause of the blast — which destroyed three structures and damaged at least a dozen others — remains under investigation, but officials have said Oravitz and his wife, Heather, were having issues with their hot water tank.

Thunderstorms that swept through the region Saturday night forced search and rescue crews to stop operations until about 9 a.m. The area was inundated Sunday with emergency crews from Allegheny County, Plum, Peoples Gas, the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office, and a slew of firefighters. The cause of the blast remains under investigation and may not be known for months or years, authorities said Sunday. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is leading the investigation, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said. They told her they saw the house next to them go up in flames and just ran out of their house, which was destroyed by fire. GoFundMeGoFundMe accounts to aid victims of the Plum explosions have been established, one specifically for the Smith family and the other for all victims.

Crews were expected to resume working at the site on Sunday morning. Jeremy Rogers lives two doors down from the house that exploded. Officials said 20 firefighters were treated at the scene, mostly for heat exhaustion.

What Is Design Development DD In Architecture?

dd design

Everyone on the construction project team is connected whether on-site, in the office or working remotely. Make sure your design is executed properly and on time with resource management tools and more. This isn’t a complete list of materials, at least not at this phase in the architecture design process, but it shows the basic materials for all elements of the structure, envelope and interior.

What Is Design Development (DD) In Architecture?

Civil drawings are used in the construction of bridges, buildings, canals, harbors, roadways, railroads, pipelines, public utility systems and more. The deliverable in this phase is a complete set of drawings and specifications, referred to as the construction documents. These will be submitted for the permit and given to contractors to develop bids/quotes for the work. Design development (DD) in architecture is critical to the success of any construction project management plan.

Arteriors

The main purpose of the design development phase is to define and develop the important aspects of the project including the exterior and interior of the building, layouts, room sizes and the materials you’ll need. Engineers also contribute to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and electrical systems. The fourth phase is bidding to connect the construction company with the designer and owner. Lastly, the designer oversees the work to make sure the construction administration conforms to the plans. Our software is equipped with features that carry you from design through construction to deliver success. Once you have the design development done, general contractors can plan schedules, resources and more.

Elevation of the site is crucial to construction, as well as elevation for the structure itself. As for the building, facade considerations are included with dimensions and materials. All openings, such as fixed and operable doors and windows, should be indicated. If you send misinformation, you’ll pay the difference when it’s too late to make changes.

When completed, the mechanical drawings are added to the construction drawings, which are all used in the permitting process. The design development phase executes the schematic design phase and further refines the details that were initially established. For example, the designer finalizes the schematic design that was approved by the client and begins the work on the general structural details for the building. This includes the placement of doors and windows as well as deciding on the materials that will be used in construction.

In the U.S., oil and gas operators in the nation’s largest plays in Texas, North Dakota and Pennsylvania depend on products from D&D DesignTech. Our products protect tubing from harmful components, help maintain and optimize the well, avoid free flow and siphoning, and generally provide an important line of defense for the operator. It all started with me getting my very first bike - a Harley-Davidson V-Rod.

To see how it fits into the larger picture, let’s look at architecture design and the specifics of design development. Many times, the designer and consulting engineers will prepare a narrative as a part of the schematic design. This broadly describes the project and what kinds of systems (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, M&E) the building will use. Again, specifications will not be complete at this point in the process, however, an outline document is needed.

These drawings are often reproduced in the blueprint process and are sometimes created by computer-aided design (CAD) tools. The purpose of the design development is not, however, to supply instructions on how to install the system, quality control requirements and other technical information. While an updated cost estimation is often done at this phase, the design development isn’t a specification book, which has written instructions for the drawings and is done later in the process.

These materials should be noted and coordinated graphically across all the drawings. The draft finish schedule, which includes the floor, wall and ceiling finishes, is also included. A civil drawing also called a site drawing, is a technical drawing that contains grading, landscaping and other construction site details. These drawings have plans, cross-sections and profiles that give the civil engineer a clear picture of everything to be found at the construction project’s location.

Eventually, section two leads to the magnificent carousel room, the piece de resistance that somehow isn’t the end. To exit, you’ll walk through the red-carpeted throat of a demon. Jordan sold the house in 1988 to a friend who continued building on the site, adding to the collections of knick-knacks and exhibits featuring authentic pieces, reproductions, and specially-made examples of everything. The most recent addition is the "Spirit of Aviation", a collection of large model airplanes in a themed room. Another exhibit, the "Transportation Building", is under construction, but visitors can walk through and view the work in progress. Jordan built the house as a weekend retreat and never intended it to be a tourist attraction.

Things to Do in Sheboygan Your Family Will Love!

But our favorite out of all of Dwayne Johnson’s houses is the massive 46-acre equestrian estate he owns in Powder Springs, Georgia. Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac behind massive iron gates, the private estate first wows visitors with its mature trees and manicured lawns. His estate was described as “a complete resort” in a previous listing and, after taking a look at it, we have to agree that it’s indeed a palatial property worthy of the moniker. Dwayne Johnson lives in a beautiful $27.8 million mansion in Los Angeles’ exclusive Beverly Park neighborhood, along with his wife Lauren Hashian, and their adorable kids.

Famous TV and Movie Houses in Los Angeles That Are A Must See

The Hollyhock House was designed by Frank Llyod Wright for Aline Barnsdall though she quickly became disillusioned with the home and donated it to the city of LA. The hollyhock was Aline’s favorite flower and was used as a theme throughout the house. Even if you cannot tour the home it is visible from the park and the city views are wonderful as well. I recommend stopping by for at least a quick visit if you can. I have not been able to confirm if the grounds are still open to the public during COVID 19. The Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills feels like the perfect home to kick off this list with.

Regular Season

American Gods was turned into a tv series in 2017, and much of season 2 was filmed at the House on the Rock in May 2018. Gaiman and the cast showed up to the Wisconsin attraction to shoot numerous scenes for the show. Meanwhile, at Christmas, sections 1 & 2 are decked out in holiday decorations. The special Christmas program runs from November 19 through January 1. During that time, the House is still closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and all holidays.

The house pictured is where the Heck family lived in The Middle. The Happy Days House is located near Paramount Studios where the show was filmed. I visited Garry Marshall’s grave the day after I came to see this house so it felt like a very full-circle moment. Brandon and Brenda Walsh did not actually live in the zip code or Beverly Hills. Parking to take a photo at this particular home was not as easy as some of the others.

This is one of the nicer hotels in the immediate Spring Green area. You’ll get a comfortable room with free wifi, parking, and breakfast. The band 10,000 Maniacs filmed their 1997 music video for “More Than This” at the House on the Rock Wisconsin. Scenes from the video show the self-playing piano and, of course, the big carousel. Those who are interested in the man should spend extra time in the Alex Jordan Jr. Center, one of the section 1 rooms that all visitors to the site can access.

Movie and TV Show Houses in Long Beach

He designed the home there after leaving Oak Park, Illinois. From Taliesin, Wright designed some of his most famous works, including Fallingwater. The giant carousel is part of Section 2, meaning that it’s part of all the tours except for the Original House Experience. This is one of the most popular sections of the House, called the Infinity Room.

From the photos that I have seen online the inside looks really interesting. This adorable home stands out on the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica. The rumor is that this house was owned by Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie. You can park in one of the beach parking lots and walk down to the home or park by one of the neighbors. PCH is a really busy road so it won’t always feel easy to stop for the photo. You can see my photos of various movies and TV show houses from my visit to the Warner Bros Ranch.

North of Long Beach in San Pedro you can find the spot that was used for the school Anchor Beach on the series which you can read about in this post. This house is within walking distance from Fox Studios where the show was filmed so that worked out well for them. The Brady Bunch House has been one of the most exciting homes that I have visited so far. After HGTV did the makeover of the house I was hoping that they might open it up for fans to see. It just happens to be five minutes away from my favorite place to eat.

Some of the houses are famous because of the architecture while others are famous for being used in movies and tv shows. There are so many different ways that we are spoiled in Southern California but the incredible variety of homes that we can visit is truly something special. Please note that not all of the homes on this list are open to the public but I will make sure to specify which ones are available for you to visit vs which ones you can drive by. Visits by Jordan to tourist attractions like Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm in California led to the idea of creating a separate building to house a “main street” of themed buildings. The store windows were a convenient way to exhibit the ever-growing collections he had hired buyers to search for and acquire from around the world. There are many reasons to visit House on the Rock, from the stunning views of the surrounding countryside to the nearly 200-foot-long Infinity Room that offers a breathtaking glimpse into the valley below.

This house is picturesque and has a fabulous fairytale vibe to it. The front of the mansion features a large white door with pillars on either side that the family loves to decorate for the season. The property has a colossal 18,000 square feet of living space spread across the main mansion as well as the detached 2,500-square-foot guesthouse. Perhaps the music is so foreboding because it is a disappointment when visitors learn that no one is allowed to ride it. But at the end of its 218-foot length, the room has progressively narrowed to one inch in width. He constructed it to jut out over the valley below with no vertical support beneath, building in 3,264 windows and including a glass pane in the floor.

He wanted exotic animals and fanciful creations that were anything but a traditional merry-go-round horse, and he had his cadre of talented artists build them to match his drawings. What Jordan ended up with were fanciful centaurs, dragons, peacocks and mermaids pulling a royal carriage, all swirling in a dark room lighted by 20,000 twinkling lights. When the dollhouse collection was completed, each residence had been given appropriate architectural detailing, painting, wallpaper and electrification.
